One-of-a-kind exhibit -- GO!
This museum is fabulous. It's hard to believe it's free! You generally have to pay a lot of money to enter a museum this fine. The Gallipoli exhibit is a MUST-SEE. It was designed and executed by Peter Jackson. If you've been to a lot of museums, like we have, you get to a point where you won't go if there's nothing unique to see. Well, the Gallipoli exhibit is as unique as it gets. Wow

Free and family friendly
Te Papa is a large museum free of charge except certain premier exhibits. My husband and I actually came here twice to help kill some time and explore. It is a well put together museum good for families too. We were really sad we did not have enough time to do the Alice and Wonderland exhibit or the Gallipoli War exhibit. We have heard such good things about the war one. Totally recommend if looking for something to do in Wellington if it is raining or you just need something inexpensive to do for the day.
