Gothic style church with exceptional wooden tower

Completed in 1540, but extensions and changes were made during subsequent ages. Striking is the wooden tower standing alone next to the main building from 1519 (currently under repair). It took some 70 years to build the church. Younger than the nearby Zuiderkerk, but more spacious. Interesting to hear the floor of the church contains more than 1500 tombstones.

    Beautiful
The exterior of this church is not extraordinary but the inside is. I didnt expect such a huge space and it really is worth walking round. Basic not over religious and just a brilliant space.

    A climb to remember!
May sound like a lot of steps but it is not difficult to climb. There are rest points along the way. The rest points will give time to learn from the tour guide as they give historic facts and visuals. The view from the top will depend on the weather. Even if you don't get to see much due to rain the climb itself and going back down is an adventure on its own. I enjoyed it.
