Fantastic museum and a must see while in Amsterdam!
I attended with my husband and children (13f and 11m). We all walked out thankful we went and declared it the best museum experience of our visit to Amsterdam. It is highly informative, jars your emotions, makes you consider individual responses to things that were happening during the time period, and makes you think (and hope!) about how you would have reacted during Amsterdam's occupation. It is interactive, has far more objects and personal stories than I imagined it would, and explains many different actions of people living in Amsterdam - outward and vocal resistance, discrete and quiet (but powerful) resistance, going along in the hope things would just go away or inaction because of fear, and joining with the opposition. It also tells what happened to each person discussed either during the war or after. (This is really a simplification of the summary.) We spent 3 hours there. I was able to read/listen to every inch of the main museum. We did not visit the children's exhibit, although I wish I had just to see how it was done. (My children were well old enough to understand what they were reading and listening to.) I dare say that, as an American, it was hard not to draw comparisons to things that have happened in my own country over the last several years or even what is happening in the world now. A must-see!

The Resistance Museum Junior section is one of the best children’s museums we have ever visited. Small but perfect!
I visited your Resistance Museum Junior today with my two 12 year old boys. We’ve been to many museums aimed at children and young people in many countries but rarely have we visited one that has been so creatively presented, so interactive and has captured their attention from beginning to end. Discovering at the end that the 4 children we’d been finding out about are real people and hearing them talk about their memories and hopes for the future was really moving. I highly recommend this museum to any families with young people - it’s aimed at children aged 9+ and I think it’s one of the best children’s museums we’ve been to. The boys loved it and so did I.
