Extraordinary Manor House
Trompenburgh is a 17th-century summer residence of Admiral Cornelis Tromp, one of the naval heroes of the Dutch Republic in 's-Graveland. It is a special building from the Golden Age because of the construction and it was built from wood on bricks. The house with an octagonal dome at the back side has great historical value because as well the ceiling as the interior was painted beautifully. And this octagonal room is the most beautiful part of the house. The weathervane was gilded. We came here during the open monument day in september. After this day, it would be closed for a couple years for renovation.

Architecture tribute to the sea
We were very lucky to visit Trompenburgh, Cornelis Tromp’s summer house. Awesome to discover this house where passion and proffession (marine) match together in an unique space. The round room is a great masterpice, a tribute from Tromp to all the cultures he found along his travels aroubd the world. Unfortunately this house is only available for bussiness and social events.
