The Corrie ten Boom House, North Holland Province, The Netherlands

4.5 (999 reviews) Monday: Spent Ranking #2 in Haarlem Speciality Museums

Not to be missed!

This is a fantastic, must-see. You do have to book in advance and space is limited for each tour because it is a small house. I failed to get the name of our guide, but she was really great. This story needs to be better known. It is actually known more in America and Canada than in The Netherlands.

Intimate and moving museum about a great lady.
This is a small, intimate yet fascinating museum about a wonderful person. A true Christian who acted the part rather than just mouthing platitudes, as plenty did during that dark time. The guide, whose name unfortunately I didnt get, was extremely good. It perhaps feels a bit evangelical but that reflects the source of the strength that led Corrie and her circle to do the great work that they did. I found it extremely moving. I havent been to the Anne Frank House but some how Im glad we went to this museum instead. The tour is provided on a donation basis only and as the groups are necessarily limited in size, book early. We were lucky to be able to get in without a booking but that was only because a group didnt show up.

    Don’t miss this quality tour
We chose to visit the Corrie Ten Boom house instead of the Anne Frank house as tickets are much easier to obtain and the tour is excellent. We were staying in Haarlem during our trip to the Netherlands and this was well worth the visit! The tour size is limited so make sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time. Our guide was a good storyteller and a wealth of knowledge and told her story well. There are some very small steep stairs to climb but my elderly mom was able to navigate these. This tour is appropriate for most ages as there were children in this tour as well. It was very moving and all three of us found ourselves in tears at the end.
