The Fort of Weesp
Seeing this national monument 'Torenfort' from outside was very interesting as it's still intact. But when you have a chance to get inside the building, that was really cool. It was open and we could get around inside. There are all kind of clubs such as Creative group of Weesp, music club, ceramic, studio etc.

Unfortunately not open for public
A tower fort from 1859-1861 well kept. Accessible from Weesp via the Lange Vecht bridge over the river Vecht just 5 minutes walk from the town hall / city center. Bomb-free tower with a canal (De Vecht) around it unfortunately not open to public. Nice place to relax. Lot of bikers pass around. Eben it is not open for public, many bike holders at the entrance bridge.

UNESCO World Heritage site !
This fort is part of the defense system built around Amsterdam to protect it against invaders . The system included 46 forts and batteries and numerous dikes, dams and locks . The whole network has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996 and this fort was completed in 1861 , It is in excellent condition and the inside is being used for meetings ,an art gallery and workshops for handicraft !
