Museum Quarter, North Holland Province, The Netherlands

A Haven for Education and Discovery

The Museum Quarter is the place to be to learn and discover in the Netherlands’s capital city. One shouldn’t rush their time here. You have the jaw-dropping Rijksmuseum and the beloved Van Gogh Museum, some other smaller curations, and one massive green space for the community to embrace. This space was kept quite clean for the number of people on it, which I appreciated, unlike Paris’s Champ de Mars by the Eiffel Tower. It’s certainly challenging to miss, and obviously crucial NOT to miss, when in Amsterdam. I can’t wait to go back in the future!

Excellent location for a hotel home base
We stayed in Park Centraal Hotel, in the museum quarter. It was an excellent place to have our home base for exploring Amsterdam. It also made it very easy to visit all the museums in the area. Don't forget to get your museum tickets online - they all only accept timed tickets purchased online.

So much to see in a beautiful section of town
A number of wonderful museums all packed into a very walkable area. You could easily spend days in this quarter without visiting any of the other areas this remarkable city has to offer. Convenient public transportation makes this quarter easy to get to from any part of the city.
