Must See Museum in Noord Holland
We really loved this museum. It has an amazing collection of artifacts dating way back into the second Ice Age. I especially liked the facial reconstruction of the skulls that they found. It gave you a real sense of what the people were like. Very much like the people that are living there now. The Germanic warrior could have been someone you'd have met an hour before on the street. This museum is a hidden gem that deserves way more visitors.

Small but interesting
This is a very nice, small museum with a nice atmosphere. Linked to the archeological depot, on display are several archeological finds with descriptions on each item on touch screens which need a bit of figuring out. One of the best features is the way the clothing of each time period is displayed. Not with the usual stiff plastic models but beautiful waxwork figures with rich detail. The restaurant has a small menu but is excellent. The museum is located directly next to the train station.
