Nice day for the kids
I live in this city and when i saw there where no pictures i decided to write a review. I come here alot as a babysitter with 3 kids, ages 3, 5, and 10. I think its a nice place for kids from 14/16 and under. They have 5 Pools inside, 2 for small kids and 3 for older kids and adults (1 with a slide and 2 big pools with dive planks) They also have 1 outside pool with slide, and a grass field to lay down. Its a verry clean place and you can also buy snacks, healthy food and drinks at a small food corner. Its nice to go here the price is 4,50 for adults and 3,40 for kids.

Climb and fun
My son and I did a quick bike ride to the ¨De Hoornse Vaart¨, which in fact is a swimming and recreation center. Besides indoor and outdoor swimming and other fun & sports activities it offfers a large outdoor climbing arena for all experience levels. Besides the 5 different tracks in different heights and difficulty levels, we also did the free fall from the 16m tower and the ropeway (hanging). Big fun and really something to overcome fear of heights (acrophobia). Definitely something you should do with kids or on your own, if you like climbing. You are always secured, so even if you fall, it will never be more than half a meter to a meter. Come on, don't be shy, get it on!

Swimming pool and gym
The swimming pool Hoornse Vaart in Alkmaar is an average attraction, it has two pools inside (one recreational with a slide and waves, one for swimming lanes), a little pool for the small kids, and one pool outside. There is cafe that serves some drinks and snacks. On the first floor a gym is located. Can be very busy at times especially if you want to exercise and swim lanes after work. Make sure you use a locker for your valuables. Plenty of parking available.
