Before the opening of the library, there was a program in the morning, so we intended to come back in the afternoon. It's a quiet and a cool place to pass the time with more information about the city, Since my husband was interested on something, I wandered around while i waited. We were also coming from another interesting spot to complete the visit. There was a nice cafe to relax before going home.

Enjoyed snacks at lunchtime
We called into the coffee shop here twice at lunchtime while staying in Alkmaar, and sampled the toasties, a nice calm place to relax for a while. Friendly and helpful service.

this Alkmaar library welcomes visitors and locals
Very welcoming atmosphere for locals as well as visitors. The staff (and volunteers) try to assist you whenever they can. Very nice long table to sit and read magazines and newspapers and a place to order drinks and something to eat. Go!
