    Loved it
We went there late afternoon, we purchased the tickets online but while we were outside the building, this option is cheaper, also you can enter until late there but the tickets office is closed earlier, so plan before you go at night. To get there, take the FREE ferry from Centraal Station to Builsloterweg, both piers are in front of each other so it only takes 5 minutes to cross the IJ river. From the pier you will see the building so just walk over there. If you are looking for the 'I amsterdam" sign is not there, so not bother looking for it (it is in the Airport as September 2021). You can get there early and seat around the Eye Filmuseum for a while to enjoy the views, you can even have a beer there and relax for a little bit before enter the A'DAM building. There is an Albert Heijn (minimarket) in the rear block of the A'DAM building where you can get beer or something else at very reasonable prices. I suggest you go up during daylight. Take the picture at the entry, it really is free, you can get it from their website later, or buy the hard copy while leaving the building. When entering the elevator, have you camera ready, there is a show of lights you can see through the crystal celling of the elevator (lift). I think the morning hours might be better for pictures since the sun would be behind you, but we got amazing pictures of the afternoon and sunset, but if you are more interested in being seen in the picture this might not be the best time, with the sun in front of you people will look a little darker. We have a couple of beers and wine while there (after we took tons of pictures) and sat just to enjoying the view until the sun was out. Pictures at night also were amazing. Take a sweeter there if planning on staying at night, it was a hot day wen we went and up there at night the wing make it cold.

    Swing makes it worthwile!
Our trip to the lookout was primarily based on the swing! This was a great experience, not something I have seen before and even though you're only on it for a few minutes I did think it was worth the admission and extra swing ticket. We did think that if the swing wasn't there, or you weren't planning to use it, there isn't a lot of things to justify the entry price. You get some nice views from the top, although there is a lot of chain link fencing for safety reasons with is a bit obstructive. There is also a bar, however we did not use this. Was busier than we expected when we visited, think they were having some technical issues with the elevator (did find it a little odd there is literally one elevator to get up or down). This created a bit of a bottleneck so took about 25 minutes to actually get to the top. Swing is a great experience, on a quieter day would have been even better!
