Like a Sea
Very Big lake and waves coming like a Sea. There are some small islands middle of the lake. So beautiful. I really want to go for a Boat ride but I didn’t find any boat service. Very sunny but didn’t feel it because cool winds flowing everywhere. Amazing.

Giritale tank (Sinhala: ගිරිතලේ වැව) is a reservoir in Giritale , Polonnaruwa in Sri Lanka.
Giritale tank (Sinhala: ගිරිතලේ වැව) is a reservoir in Giritale , Polonnaruwa in Sri Lanka. It is very beautiful lake. It was built by King Agbo II in (608-618). It is believed that the tank was renovated by King Parakramabahu, the Great (1153–1186). Later, it was subjected to renovation in 1905, 1942 and 1952 during colonial era. Giritale Tank was considered as the deepest tank in Sri Lanka during the rule of medieval capital Polonnaruwa. Capacity of the Reservoir is 19,000 acre⋅ft.

A MASSIVE RESERVOIR
A reservoir [locally called a tank] built in the 7th c AD, the lake was the deepest reservoir when Sri Lanka was ruled from Polonnaruwa. Now it is a draw for hotels and wildlife. It can purportedly be tricky if on the water when the winds blow.
