A Gorgeous Brewery and Fantastic Tour

We brewed our first batch of beer in 1980 in Chico, California, the lush forests of North Carolina far from our mind. Over three decades, folks tried our bold beers and deemed them fit for friends across the country. In time a second brewery became the wisest, most sustainable way to send fresh beer to the farthest reaches. Today you can venture inside our Mills River brewery to trace our history as a craft beer pioneer and see first-hand our drive to make flavorful beer the status quo. Cruise up our wooded driveway, park under a solar-panel canopy, and head behind the scenes with us. Our tours fill up quickly! You must make reservations online for all tours except the Guided Tasting and the self-guided Visitor Corridor. Click below to check availability and book your tour. Please feel free to contact our Tour Desk before your visit if you have any questions about our tour programs or policies.

    Resort of all breweries
Amazing brewery, unlike any I’ve experienced. To learn how the journey began with a teens dream to now a family continued success to uphold their fathers dreams and ambitions. It’s the RESORT of all breweries in its culture and stewardship to its communities they serve. Environmentally sound and modern usage available to be responsible citizens in environment they operate in. Great tour to learn the experiences, trials and tribulations they went through to get to where they are today.

    Must Do
Love, love, love this place. Regardless if you have a short amount of time to only grab a meal or if you have an entire day to lounge and enjoy the outdoor scenery and beers this is a must do whenever you are in the Asheville area. A little bit of advice, if you can make reservations. I have never visited without having to wait and the wait can be easily over an hour. There is a quasi self tour that navigates through the different areas and stages of the brew house. If you know the process then it is something cool to see and gives you something to do while waiting for a table. If you don't know anything about brewing beer or the canning process then it might bot be as enjoyable. I believe there are tours available. The food and beers are phenomenal. I love the flatbreads/ pizza's and we usually order two or three and share with the table. Trying some of the recommended beer pairings is also fun and there are so many beers to try you can find something for everyone. The larger entrees are a little more pricey but worth it. We love the wings and the burgers and again, pairing some of the rotating taps or classics with the meals is a nice compliment. Definitely ask the server for the recommendations - they know their beers well. Lastly, be sure to visit the outside area. a huge, sprawling outdoor area with nature trails, outdoor seating, and outdoor garden and play area for kids. Seating outside goes pretty fast but there's still a ton of places you can sit along the stone walls or just walk around. Service here is top notch as well. As busy as they stay the service was fast and friendly. again, a definite must do when in the Asheville area.
