A complete surprise! We did not expect this place to be so beautiful or this visit so interestin! We had 2 great guides (norbei and Sofia) who explained everything very well and made it very interersing :)

Eye opening look at Colombian history
I didn't know much about the history of Colombia when our group was told that we would visit the museum. I know so much more now. The museum gives you a good opportunity to learn a great deal in a short time. The grounds are extensive. You can easily walk a couple of miles if you want to see the entire campus. You should have someone with you that can translate Spanish. The buildings are wonderful to see but you will want to read about the history that took place to bring freedom to Colombia. That I know of, there is no audio tour of the place. You will have plenty of reading to do with captions of pictures and historical documents! There is an area for children to play. It was the most popular single room in the whole museum!

Lovely.
Lovely building and an illustration of important parts of Colombia's history. If you are not Spanish reading, bring a guide or translator as all exhibits are in Spanish. Don’t miss the upstairs mezzanine and the story of the passionate drama between Simon Bolivar and General Santander!
