Local is better
I am not a moonshine person, but I am now educated on how I was missing out. The sips of the wide assortment was great. learning but the subtle differences and how it is made was very interesting. We purchase some shine as well as tee shirts. It is far better to visit the local place than the major producers. Very much worth the stop.

Interesting side trip in the area
Found the distillery up the hill from the main road-easy to miss when driving by. Pulled in and seemed to be closed. Sign on door said to go to employee entrance. Just as we got the door a wonderful gentleman came out and escorted us to give a personal tour of the distillery. He was most informative and knew the answer to all my questions. Free samples were interesting. Even though some moonshine was 90% you did not feel like you were drinking pure alcohol. Flavored moonshine was the best. Actually bought a couple of bottles.

Not open
Tried to visit two different times while I was on vacation. First time was on Saturday 7/4 The sign on the door said I can be there in 5 mins call .... so I called and I was told they weren’t opening that day. Fair enough it was a holiday. I tried again Monday they weren’t open, and I didn’t bother to call again.
