great pick up location not too crowded. sort of movie like when picking up someone at 1 am. Great travel option for Jackson tn.

If you like trains and train history and you are in the area, stop by - it is very interesting and nostalgic.

An Amtrak station with an attached museum.
The museum is located in a former Illinois Central Railroad depot that has been reincarnated as an Amtrak stop. The museum, unfortunately, has limited hours of operation (Sunday afternoons only currently). It showcases the local history both of the railroad and of the town. Many photographs and artifacts are displayed along with several operating model railroads. Amtrak only stops there in the middle of the night, but every few hours a CN freight train passes, so there are real trains too. Warning: Do not trespass on the tracks. Keep small children in hand when on the platform. Railroad tracks are not a playground. Trains pass at 50-mph. Safety First!
