Great fun, great guide!

We tried the Sunset Kayak Tour from Newburgh, NY. Our guide Colin was great. We were a family of 4 brand new kayakers, with 8 total kayakers in our tour group. Colin explained how to row/steer and checked all our gear before we set out on the water. My sister tipped over within minutes of leaving the pier, and ended up in the Hudson River. Colin was great and helped her get back to the pier and into her kayak, calmly and safely. It was smooth sailing from there. The views are gorgeous! I can't wait to try one of their other tours from their 3 total departure points. They suggest that you bring a change of clothing and shoes, which came in handy. Here are no lockers or anything, so bring only what you feel comfortable leaving in your car. Colin secured our car keys, so no worry about them getting wet.

    Great kayaking trip!
    This is the 2nd time we've used mountain valley guides for a kayaking tour and would definitely do it again. Guides are very knowledgable and emphasize both safety and fun. Kayaking on the Hudson is wonderfully scenic and tour around banner mans island is rich in history and very interesting. Our tour guides were very entertaining and we learned a lot while getting some sun, fresh air and exercise. Our group had 20+ people from first timers to seasoned kayakers and guides did a great job keeping the group together and safely getting us across Hudson among much boat traffic. We did the bbq tour which we highly recommend. After tour of island had a terrific lunch that not only offered hot dogs and burgers, but also chicken, veggie burgers , shrimp, lots of fruit,beverages and even dessert. Enjoyed a yummy meal, some games and even a beer on the beach. What more could you ask for?

    Loved it!
    Recently had a friends and family kayak trip and a picnic on the sandbar. Mountain valley guides provided great food, music, and fun! I also did my husband’s 50 th birthday party with mountain valley guides. Everyone loved it!
