Snow tubing - fun but poor crowd management
We took our kids ages 3-11 snow tubing on Presidents Day. They had never been and were very excited. We’re glad we bought tickets in advance because they sold out the session. Even though all the lanes were open, my kids were only able to go down about 4-5 times. In two hours. So we spent $30/each to drive 2+ hours there and back so that the kids could go down a mountain 4 times. The problem is that they wait until the entire bottom is cleared before they allow anyone to go down. So if one lane has a slowpoke, the entire rest of the lanes have to wait. It ended up being that when you got to the top to finally go down, you sometimes had 8 people waiting to go ahead of you because of that policy. I think it has the potential to be really fun and the times that my kids went down, they really enjoyed but there had to be a better way of managing the crowds or at least not make everyone wait for a different lane to be cleared. It’s because of that, that I don’t expect us to return.

Fair - a little disorganized; a bit haphazard
Been to Mt Peter a few times over last 5 years. Their registration/ rentals area / flow is disjointed and disorganized - Not easy. Each item you need is in a different shed, needing to walk outside from shed to shed, sometimes muddy parking lot. Lodge and facilities a little dirty. Restaurant was running low on food / running out of several items - midday for lunch on a holiday. Staff not particularly welcoming or helpful. I prefer Thunder Ridge 15 minutes closer to NYC-they’re more organized, more friendly, with a cleaner, better lodge and staff.
