Great Childrens Lock Experience
My young grandsons thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon on the Champlain Canal & Hudson River. The 1 1/2 hour Locks & Waterfall Cruise was just enough for my grandsons. The Caldwell Belle glides along the waterway while the narrator points out wildlife & points of interest. The Saratoga Monument can be seen easily from the boat. The highlight of the cruise, of course, is going through Lock C5. It is a thrilling learning experience for the children as well adults on board. A small waterfall can be viewed half way through the trip. The waterway offers a chance to see other types of vessels from pleasure boats to tugboats & barges. Beverages & light snacks are for sale on board. There is an enclosed lower deck. The upper deck s open with a canopy in the middle. There are ample seats on both decks. Visitors may also bring their own refreshments on board. A variety of other cruises are also offered including overnight cruises.

Enjoyable afternoon
We went on a Sunday and the Captain was great! Loved going through the lock! Very peaceful and splendid way to spend the afternoon.

So relaxing
Four of us took the Captain's Choice cruise on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We found the cruise to be relaxing and enjoyable. The boat was full, so we couldn't sit together, but we were free to walk around at will. The captain's running commentary was informative and entertaining.
