Great river trip
The island is a short distance offshore, but feels like a world unto itself. The castle is a fascinating study in opulence and decay, with the lower floors thoroughly restored, but the top unfinished. The grounds are very attractive, and be sure to walk down to the Power House.

Family visit
We have been here several times over the years. It is nice to come back and see what areas have been finished. Self walk through tour, not rushed, take time. We had kids and teens with us this time, they did ok with walking around the castle and grounds.
