Great place with many green trails for beginners
My entire family LOVED this place. This was our second time cross country skiing but first time at Cascade. My husband, kids (13, 11 and 8) and I all took a lesson and the instructor was great. My husband never caught on the first time but the instructor was able to make it finally "click". My 13 year old was anti cross country skiing until visiting Cascade. I loved that there were LOTS of green trails. Some of us even did two blue trails. We skied from 9:20 to 3. Most skiers weren't wearing masks (experienced the same at another place) but the trails were wide so I was not as concerned. Employees were wearing masks. Equipment was very good, too. Can't wait to visit again.

    Excellent cross-country center
Excellent cross-country center less than 10 miles from downtown Lake Placid. We have our own skis and snowshoes so all we had to do was buy a ticket and get a map. For cross-country skiers there really are not any beginner trails as you always have to negotiate site inclines. Overall very well Marked and very well groomed. We took a break and then went out for another 2 1/2 hours of snowshoeing following the jackrabbit trail. Before we hit the jackrabbit trail we went on one of the snowshoe exclusive trails which was fabulous inside what could have passed for the Black Forest in Germany. Very well groomed but just enough work to make it fun. We took the jackrabbit trail toward Lake Placid for about a mile and 1/2 to the hostiles on route 73. At which point we turned around. We were in the last one in the park. Will be going back there again.
