Very historic museum!! A must visit
Chills ran down my spine knowing that right where I stood is where slaves were sold. Pompey was the name of a brave slave in the island and the museum house was actually built in the 1700s. Wow. Small artifacts , photos and objects are available to see. Close the a dock outside called Price George dock. Wow very informative. Enjoy and thank me later

Excellent small museum
This small museum is in the heart of downtown Nassau. One could go through the museum and look at the well-arranged and clearly presented exhibits in a half-hour, but taking the time to access all of the information on the electronic boards is worthwhile and only adds another half-hour or so to the visit. I happened to enter the museum at the same time as a couple who said they only wanted to spend a few minutes in air-conditioning and weren't all that interested in the museum itself. Forty-five minutes later, they were still there, absorbed in this chapter of Bahamian history. I would consider this museum a must for anyone visiting Nassau.

An explanation of Bahamas' role in the slave trade
This museum is located in the original enslaved-persons auction house on the main strip in downtown Nassau. It was very educational and a must-see. That said, this museum could use an update to make it more accessible to children and teens, with more interactive exhibits, more artifacts, docents, and a clearer, easier to follow timeline. Also, there's no public restroom on the premises.
