Best show in Santa Fe
This is probably one of the best things to do in Santa Fe. Even if you are not an opera goer, just to see the architecture of this opera house should be on anyone's list. The sides and back of the stage are open, so you have the mountains in the background, all facing west, so you get a beautiful sunset as well. If you are an opera goer, you are in for a real treat. Some of the most famous opera singers IN THE WORLD appear here on this stage. Just fantastic performances, outstanding stage sets, and exceptional music. It's a little on the expensive side, so it's definitely a splurge, but you will not be disappointed. It's a must-do event if you ever get a chance.

Standing ovation!
We were invited to the gala opening of M Butterfly at the Opera House. The opera was wonderful. We had attended a seminar and meeting with the creators of the opera as well as the gala dinner. What a treat. The opera house is just wonderful and I doubt that there is a bad seat. We selected center section seats in the balcony first row which were perfect. There are translations in front of each seat. We had concern for the weather because everyone mentions that it is open with wonderful views of the surroundings but in truth all of the seats are covered so rain is not a greater issue than other venues. One might want a coat for cold weather. If in Santa Fe it would be a shame not to try to attend the Opera House.
