Gorgeous Carousel
This is an absolutely gorgeous carousel. We are members of the National Carousel Association, so we came to see it. Put together by the Murphy Brothers, it has mostly horses carved by Charles Carmel but also a few Charles Looff horses and camel. Each animal is extremely well carved, deeply detailed and seamlessly painted. This carousel is well worth riding. The beach is also beautiful. It’s also a shell collector’s paradise.

Awesome!
This is a gentle reminder of how things change. From what used to be an amusement park of yesteryear, the carousel is one of a handful of relics that have survived to this day. The carousel itself is beautiful. There is a large hall attached to it where weddings and other functions can take place. The operator of the carousel was very knowledgeable about the ride. Beautiful location. A must-do!

Park down the street to avoid heavy fee
A lot of people have commented on the $30 fee for non-resident vehicles entering the park. Personally, I don't think the park is worth $30. However, if you just park half a mile down the road and walk to the park you can walk right in along a path and not pay anything. This is what I do, and it is well worth it. My wife and I do this for picnics at the park.
