Hidden Gem in Historic Town
We've been coming to New Braunfels for over 40 years and had never been here. Try to go on "Second Saturday"!! The house with no nails and vintage furniture and the surrounding out-buildings are really cool, but the best experience was by chance we attended on the 2nd Saturday of September. Every 2nd Saturday the area's living historians take over the out-buildings with demonstrations of life back then. Awesome experience for both adults and kids!

Pleasantly surprised
This property was such a surprise, I came for a 2nd Saturday event and was just blown away by the beauty of the old trees and the historic buildings. Just wow. My only suggestion is to build some sort of barrier between the property and the neighborhood behind it, as it takes away from the charm. other than that it was simply magical. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit
So glad we visited this gem of a museum. The furniture collection is within an historic house which is part of a collection on the site and you can look at everything. The docents are very friendly and have a lot of stories about the settlers and there is a good collection of furniture to look at.
