This bridge used to help overcome flooding of the Guadaloupe and is set high above the river so who knows how high it used to flood. In any case it is a piece of history and hard to imagine this was a highway crossing when now it lies at the end of a relatively quiet suburban street. Managing expectations whilst it has a great view down to the river there is a factory at the end but realistically people who built bridges also need to build things that created jobs not just pretty bridges for future Instagrams.
