A great little museum with wonderful exhibits

This is a hidden gem. The exhibits change but they are always enjoyable. This past summer the main focus was Audubon prints. This fall it is painter and photographers focused on the four seasons. The museum represents artists from around the world but specializes in many of the local artists in this burgeoning artist community. It is worth the trip. Don't miss the bank vault and the exhibits downstairs.

    Good visit
I like the exhibitions that they have. It is a very humble museum, small and it doesn't have an expensive collection but I'm glad that New Bedford has it. Its value is very important nonetheless

    Lower your expectations
The museum is tiny. There were only 2 exhibits. One was videos which I didn’t “get”. The other was paintings on paper which were interesting. The gift shop was the most interesting part of the visit with a varied selection of good quality work by local artists. It doesn’t cost much to get in so if you happen to be on that part of town and have 30 minutes to kill it’s probably worth the visit. There looked to be some nice galleries nearby but they were closed on Sunday.
