Very good
The lake seems to have its own weather system - there was fog on one side with bright sunshine at the other. the name of the lake comes from the shape of the lake contours that resembles chinese words for sun and moon respectively. Apparently, Chiang Kaishek was here and liked it well. I stayed at the nearby Fleur De Chine hotel which had a good view of the lake. The water color changes depending on the time of the day and perhaps the season too. there is a sacred island in the middle of the lake which is accessible only to the local tribe.

MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKE
After reaching to the vista outlook, I gazed upon the lake and saw the setting sun reflecting itself on the still smooth waters of Sun Moon Lake. This is indeed a very scenic area of Taiwan. After the long day of sightseeing it was so relaxing to sit, to mediate on the beauty, to watch a bird flying, and to fill my soul with satisfying joy. Lalu Island in the middle of the lake separates the lake into a part shaped like a crescent moon and another part shaped like a round sun; I can see how Sun Moon Lake was named. The lake and its surrounding countryside have been designated one of thirteen national scenic area in Taiwan. From the various other locations around the lake ... Wen Wu Temple, Cien Pagoda, Jianjing Temple, Stuentzang Temple, Syuanguang Temple, and Xiangshan Visitor Center each one offers a different perspective of the beautiful lake. Many of my friends said I need to visit Sun Moon Lake to make my trip complete when I go to Taiwan, they were right. It is the MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKE ... at Sun Moon Lake.
