Most beautiful historical place in the island

Very beautiful to see that some of the utensils used back in the days are still there although others were stolen Very interesting to visit I would definitely return

    Amazing
So much history here. Construction of this building began in 1510. The governor lived here. He was considered more powerful than the other three governors that ruled Mozambique. You can’t take photos inside but you’ll find original furniture, tapestries and rugs. carriages used by the governor and his wife, vases from the Ming dynasty, ornate wooden pieces made in India, and a chapel. There is also a replica of Vasco da Gama’s small boat used to disembark. Our guide was unexpectedly wonderful and knowledgeable.

a real Pearl in the heart of the Island
Remove your shoes to get ready to walk in the History, nice stuff with sad background. The museum consists of Palace of Sao Paulo, church of Sao Paulo and Marinha Museum. well the church and Marinha Museum were nice but you can find the real charm of the complex inside the Sao Paulo Palace. a real palace with big furnished carpets, Persian carpets on the wall, big curtains, great wooden furniture and beds, kitchen stuff, chairs, tables etc. I really did not expect such a nice place would exists on the island. the palace is a real hidden Gem which you need to discover. Highly recommend to visit.
