    Kintla Lake Hidden Treasure
Plan on a long slow drive to this secluded lake but it without a doubt a true gem. Rustic and preserved this is one of the most underlooked areas of Glacier.

slice of heaven - worth the drive
If you like camping and solitude it doesn't get much better than Kintla lake (unless you want to throw on a pack and hike into the backcountry?). Sure the road is long and slow, but once you get there, 12 campsites, tucked in the corner by the lake. If you can secure a site to the right side as you enter the campground the Kintla creek will be right out your back door, the water rushing will rock you to sleep at night. Went there for the first time about 5 years ago and have not missed a year since, have met quite a few who share the passion. I have read reviews mentioning the mosquito's and yes there are millions of them, but myself I have not been bit once. Have seen a few bears but lets be honest it is there home not ours, and the rangers and campers do a good job at handling this issue, and they are a lot of fun to see (from a distance). Overall its one of the few spots I have found where you get the convenience of car camping with the solitude and benefits being in the back country. Oh and the pit stop at the Polebridge Mercantile, is just the icing on the cake.
