Frenchtown Pond State Park, Montana, United States

Very family friendly

On of my favorite pass times when the weather permits, is checking out Montana state parks. I had been at the Natural Pier Bridge in Alberton so this was a logical stop. The park is fairly large with well maintained open areas. It is for day use only and offers less activities then many of the other state parks. That being said it is very family friendly. There is a play area with a jungle gym and swings, perfect for young kids and the large green areas are perfect for adult activities. There are numerous picnic tables as well as grills and pavilions for group activities The pond's beach is perfect for sunning and relaxing. Other activities include swimming, fishing, ice skating and boating. This is a great place for a family's day outing.

Free fun at a lovely park
I wish I lived close to this park! A Montana resident pays nothing and out of state was a whopping $6.00. What value. We took a gaggle of kids swimming and had hours of fun. Please go enjoy this little gem! Swim, kayak, paddle board, fish, walk or picnic.

    Fun Day
First time here and I took my granddaughters tubing on the lake. We looked at all the rules, etc., but it wasn't until AFTER we got out of the water and went to take an outdoor shower that we saw the notice that said there was some kind of parasite in the water that could cause swimmer's itch!!!! As it turns out, we washed off and did NOT get it, but would have liked to know this before we spent over an hour in the water. That being said....we did have fun, and I would definitely go back, maybe with my canoe or trying paddle boarding. There was also a very nice playground for the younger kids and my youngest granddaughter had fun. My older granddaughter and I went back a few days later and hiked around the like, which was nice. Would definitely go back again.
