Interesting Dam, Nice Lake
A little off the highway, but worth the side trip. We drove in below the dam, parked the car, and bicycled around for awhile. Then continued past the power plant to the spillway (don't skip this!), walked a bit, and then drove across the dam to return. Spectacular lake views.

Nice Stop after a Long Drive
We drove here from Glasgow, MT where we were spending the night after a long drive from Jamestown, ND. The Fort Peck Dam was built in 1933 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. At one time it was the largest earthen dam in the world. Besides having several great lookouts there is a visitor center that has a lot of great information on the building of the dam and dinosaurs that used to roam the area. There is also a nature trail that we walked.
