    Not to be missed!
Yellowstone was closed when we were visiting the area (at least part of the time), so we had time to go check out Earthquake Lake. WOW! This is not to be missed. I would recommend going here BEFORE you get to Yellowstone, as both areas were impacted by the same earthquake, but in very different ways. This is a poignant area, with a beautiful visitor center, very interesting (and easy to manage) trails, with amazing views as a payoff at the top of the trail. Do not miss this place- so worth it.

You are either going to like it or you are not.
This is a pretty straightforward site that is historic and interesting. I don't know how far out of the way I would go to visit it, but I can't imagine not stopping by if you are around the West Yellowstone area. The site has a tragic and interesting history which resulted in the formation of a lake that offers pretty interesting views. The visit to the welcome center is free and takes about 30 minutes to see all most people would want to. The bathrooms are extremely well maintained.
