Dailey Lake, Montana, United States

Beautiful spot

This is one of my favorite places near Livingston, Montana. This is such a beautiful lake. They have lots of outhouses around the lake and there is a boat launch here as well. My brother caught one of the largest trouts I've ever seen in this lake, so we try and go here to catch some fish whenever possible. It shows that there are walleye and trout in this lake, but they can be a little shy about jumping on your line. We were shut out this year, just fyi. It does get a little windy here, just fyi. But it's in a wonderful setting and is definitely worth checking out. There are weeds near the shoreline, so if you have waders I would bring them as you might have better luck catching the big one. It's a little bit of a drive to get back here, but definitely worth it.

    Can be a good alternative
When a mud plug is passing through on the Yellowstone River, you have a few alternatives for fishing. You can go up a tributary creek, like Mill Creek. Or you can fish this lake. It the lake is calm, you can even dry fly fish. I hooked into a big rainbow here when the Yellowstone was the color of milk. Be warned though, they let power boats on here and one ended my morning of fishing.

    Beautiful Setting in Paradise Valley!
Great fishing spot. Great place to enjoy God's creation. Birds galore. Great scenery! Take a side road trip off the paved road and visit Dailey Lake you won't be disappointed.
