    REALLY COOL CULTURAL ICON
This is such a great story that you have to see for yourself. The path to get goes up hill at a grade that isn't much for the ordinary person. I'm not in the best shape and I didn't have a problem with it. Seeing and learning about it is a lot of fun. It is in the same park as the Kalaupapa Peninsula over look, which should not be missed.

    Cultural structure worth a look
If you've driven to the Kalaupapa overlook, take a few minutes and take the trail to the left down to the phallic rock. There are no petroglyphs and you may have been lead to believe, but the rock is interesting and the legend behind it explained. And it is interesting that the Hawaiians carved the rock slightly so that rain water would run in a.....provocative manner!
