A Must visit on Mississippi Blues Trail

The comprehensive and interactive exhibits are well worth the 15 dollar adult admission. As you go through the exhibits on life in the delta, BB King's Life, and delta music, their are several listening stations to hear music from multiple artists through several decades. Other highlights include a complete sound recording studio from BB King's house with his personal guitars. After paying for admission, the tour starts in a video auditorium. After the video finishes, their is a non-descript door on the side to star touring the exhibits. The gift shop has some good memorabilia items relating to delta music. The grave site outside is under some development, but worth seeing before you go. They don't allow photography in the exhibit areas.

    Blues Boy King!!
I must admit I went on this tour knowing very little about BB King, other than he was a blues singer. I came out 3 hours later a devotee of the man and his music. There was lots to see and read about, interactive displays, videos including a good introductory one in their theatre, and also live musicians, both R&B and Gospel, which made the whole thing come alive. As part of our tour we even got a spot of lunch including catfish and shrimp! A very impressive, and educational time.

    Well worth a stop
This is a fun museum and well worth a stop. There is a short introductory film then you are given a set of headphones and walk through the interactive museum which depicts through videos not only BB King’s life but also the history of blues. We couldn’t really figure out how any of the interactive displays worked with the headphones, but we’re technologically challenged. There are some of BB’s cars at the end along with one of his tour buses. Oh, how I wished you could walk on the tour bus, but you can’t. You end the museum with a visit to BB’s grave site on the grounds. There’s a nice gift shop and restrooms. We spent an hour or so.
