Great houseboat experience with kids

We loved our houseboat trip with voyagaire houseboats! Their service was excellent, with the ability for daily deliveries, fun morning stories about the area, weather and trivia with other houseboats. We had two young kids and four adults on the larger two bedroom with hot tub, the second “penthouse” bedroom is very small with a ladder up. It was worth it to stay the night before with free breakfast to get early access to head out on the houseboat otherwise check in is later afternoon and many spots to dock for the night could be taken. You also have to be back in early at 9am your last day so consider that when thinking of number of days to book. A few tips - we loved the sites at browns bay, deep slough and sandpoint island. There were wild blueberries at numerous places. Bring a battery powered fan - you have to turn off the generator and AC at night, bring bug candles or coils, floaties and tubes for swimming. It was a great trip especially during these times!

Voyagaire is the best. Trust me.
Wow! What a spectacular family vacation. This is the best national park that you’ve never heard of. Picture the most beautiful lake you’ve ever seen with private islands where you pull your houseboat up to and explore as if your the first family to ever see them. Voyagaire is the best company in the best location with the best service. You forgot something? They will bring it out to you. You need advice on where to dock? They will point you in the right direction. We’ve already booked for next summer! Do this!

    Woderful experince on the water.
Ok so it was just the wife and I in mid September in a 44 foot houseboat and 17 foot fishing boat. Our boat ran well, it was well equipped and the fishing boat was perfect. We paid attention to all the instructions and went up to Namakan Lake for two days and Sand Point lake for one. Now we are in our 60's and had no problem docking the boat at the sites were we stayed. We enjoyed cooking over an open fire one day and cooked on the grill for a few meals. It was great to get away from cell phone, internet and TV for a few days. We caught fish every day. Not a lot but we always had a few and we caught them a lot using a slip bobber off the back of the houseboat more so then we did using a Lyndy rig in the fishing boat. It was cold at night, about low 30's and high were about 60. I will say there were a million stars at night and you were never see them as bright as they in the darkness of the park. I will say that I couldn't see 8 people on this boat, I think that 4 people would be the max for us. Now we are not campers or houseboat people so that may be factor. Overall it was an amazing time and I would do it again, but maybe in the summer. The crew, restaurant people, and everybody associated with getting us off on the house boat were all great.
