A gorgeous place to walk, run, stroll, bike, etc.!

Walking around Silver Lake and hearing the water, geese and ducks is a wonderful way to relax! As you walk around, you see wildlife and when you pass around or through the playground/picnic area, you get to see people enjoying each other while their children are at play. Of course this happens on warm, sunny days but you can even find peace and harmony in the colder months just seeing nature in all her glory. Just remember to dress appropriately! ENJOY!

    Pleasant outdoor stroll
Silver Lake is a nice, manmade lake that offers a lot of outdoor activities: you can walk, jog, or bike on the 2-mile trail around the lake, or rent a boat to paddle around the lake itself. There are also spaces to picnic, play soccer or baseball, and rent a space for an event. Watch out for the Canadian geese, though - there are a lot of them, and they leave a lot of droppings. I think that the town could do a better job of cleaning up the goose poop, as it gets in the way of enjoying the outdoor space.

Nice Place to Get Out in Nature With Some Exceptions
There is a rather large flock of ducks and geese that live in this park year round. They are really neat especially in the spring and fall when they are joined by the migrating flocks. On nice fall, winter, and spring days this is a beautiful lake with a nice flat walking path. The summer is probably the worst time of year to come to this park. During the summer the mosquitoes get bad, the algae bloom (due to lots of goose poop) is huge and stinky, and the geese/ducks can be very protective of newly hatched babies.
