This place was better than I expected
This is one of the best run operations on Lake a Kabetogama. Not sure what happened to the fellow that had a bad experience with the rental boat but it probably one of those “bad customer” deals. Their rental boats are new and in almost pristine condition when you take it out. You go over a checklist with them and sign it out. There may be a couple scuffs on it but there won’t be any rock damage. The ice cream at the little store is the best I’ve ever eaten. That’s saying a lot. You won’t find better ice cream anywhere….no kidding!

Great place for supplies and don't forget ice cream!
We recently enjoyed a week of cabin-living and fishing on Lake Kabetogama. Our first stop was Kab Outdoors. Dawn and her staff were very, very helpful and friendly, and our kids made quick friends with Lindy the dog. We purchased our fishing licenses here and the process was quick and efficient. They had a great selection of fresh, live bait, as well as lures. We made several trips throughout the week for coffee, and more importantly, their huge ice cream cones! My family recommends Eskimo Kisses, Salty Jack, and Moose Tracks. Well, really, we recommend them all. I think we probably tried every flavor! While we brought the majority of our supplies with us, as with any trip, we ran out of a few things. The grocery section at Kab Outdoors was well stocked with both fresh and pantry items, and was very, very clean. The prices were higher than you'd pay in a larger grocery store, but that is to be expected when you're paying for the convenience of not traveling 35 miles to International Falls! Thanks for everything Kab Outdoors, we hope to see you again next summer!

Great place to get ice cream.
We stopped here to get ice cream. There was 16 different flavors of Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream. The kids get a Polaroid picture. Nice place to get other fishing items. The decorations we abundant throughout the store and we had fun looking around while we ate the ice cream.
