Beautiful!

Three separate lakes (Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet) all surrounded by pedestrian paths.

Great nature in the heart of the city
You'll find people strolling around these lakes during all seasons. You'll almost always see some animals here; muskrats, birds, bats at twilight. The paths are beautiful, with separate paths for bikes, and you can stroll right across the lakes in winter. All the lakes are in nice neighborhoods with lots to explore, and the trails are safe and clean. All of the lakes also have beautiful views of downtown Minneapolis; the view from the bridge on Isles is my person favorite

    Paddling through channels
Enjoyed kayaking through the channels and under the bridges. It was a beautiful evening and lots of people were enjoying the water, but it was not too crowded. Lake of the Isles has a significant issue with weeds and was challenging to paddle through. Each lake had its own personality. Don't miss the small Brownie Lake in the northwest corner.
