    Very unique place to visit!
We had watched the movie The Big Fish for the first time about a month ago and loved it. We were surprised to find out they did almost all of the filming in Millbrook, AL and the surrounding area. We realized we could go to Jackson Island in Millbrook, AL and see where some of the movie was filmed in 2003. We went last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it, there were a lot of sweet goats to pet and all of the houses were still there, they are just shells. There are beautiful moss filled trees and this place is great for picture taking. We were very happy that we made the trip. These houses are in a state of disrepair and I’m not sure how much longer they will be there so if you are thinking of going you may want to go sooner rather than later.

Great laid back fun....fishing, goats, and an old movie set.
Went with my kids and dogs (on a leash). Had a great time. Saw tons of goats, huge squirrels, a big snake, plenty of fisherman. It would have been cool if the town buildings were remade into usable cabins, but im sure that would cost quite a bit. Just a fun relaxing time. Id say if your not fishing, you could spend 2 hours there. If you are fishing all day for sure.
