Group trip to Mutorashanga Green Pools

One of the hidden gems in Zimbabwe and a great place for a summer day out for swimming, braai and picnic. Don't forget to pack your charcoal and cooler box with drinks, meat and lots of drinking water. Mutorashanga is a small town and you may not find these supplies in the local shops. It is a good idea to bring a portable braai stand as the ones on site are not enough for everyone to use, especially on summer Saturdays when the place is packed with revellers. The locals often come overdressed, just for people watching, but it is nothing to worry about. But they can be very helpful as guides, especially leading you to the shallow pools, which are accessed via a cave. The place has not been commercialised, so entry is free and there are no rules - just have fun with friends and famiy before driving back to the city.

    The Perfect Summer Day Destination
Mutorashanga Quarry is located in a small town called Mutorashanga. It was a mining town many generations ago and has since been abandoned. Over the years, a pool has formed in the quarry making for the perfect natural pool in Mashonaland West. Over 100km out of Harare, this is the perfect summer day destination away from the city and you can cool off in the pool. A roadtrip is a must and you can carry with you a cooler box, a gas braai and swimming attire. There are spots where you can jump from, so if you want to show off your diving skills, Mutorashanga is the place to do so. Isolated and away from any noise, this attraction is fitting for the summer. The water is clear, the vibe is what you make it to be and it's serene. Forget the city for a day, head to Mutorashanga to experience the hidden gems of Zimbabwe.

Great spot to chill with a group of friends
After a long drive from Harare was very happy to see that the place I visited was exactly what I had seen in pictures before traveling there. Got to got for a swim and barbecued with my friends. It’s really worth the drive.
