A real treasure in Midland Texas

This is an unexpected treasure. A fabulous research library with information on the cattlemen of the west. If you want to write the next definitive cowboy novel, you need to spend time her like McMurtry did for Lonesome Dove. There are also historical artifacts (the Alamo bell) and magnificent art pieces from Remington to Goodnight. If you find yourself in Midland, make time for this hidden gem!

    History of the West
This museum is a jewel in Midland. You can learn about the old west, surrounded by beautiful art exhibits. There is educational history of the old cattle trail drives and original saddles and clothing of cowboys. The head of the museum, Pat McDaniel, can answer questions about Midland or the old west. It is worth a visit-not to be missed.

    Best kept secret in Midland!
Located off of the main streets of Midland but next to the Museum of the Southwest, This is a true Texas treasure that many are not aware of. The information on the ranch history of Texas and the west is second to none. It's a must see.
