Fun, Enchanting, Serene Art in a Unique Setting

This is a "Hidden Gem". We happened onto an article about the Walk of Art and were thrilled to have a chance to visit. It is a unique approach to art in a natural setting of a beautiful forest and beach of East Grand Traverse Bay. The art is from the serene to the whimsical. While we picked up the brochure that had a map with locations of the artwork and details about each, we enjoyed roaming the trails and just happening upon the artwork. A nice variety of art is represented with usually 35 sculptures spread out the 15-acre park. It is located at the Elk Rapids Day park. The wooded paths are beautiful and the beach has a sandy shore but a rocky shoreline. Truly a special place for a relaxing and enchanting walk. You don't know what you will find on the path.

    Great Art Trail
Free day park with a manicured trail punctuated with art! this trail takes you right to the water's edge. It has a calm, serene feel with sculptures and the lapping waves. The park restrooms were clean. There are picnic facilities.

    We LOVED it!
We loved this sculpture park! It combined hiking, nature, art, and beaches. It was so fun to walk through and take the little paths to find a beach area with art sculptures. We loved it so much, we went back two days later and brought carryout for a picnic on the beach at the picnic table by the two canoe guys.
