    Eye opening!
This ship effected me more than I thought it would. It's one of two survivng LST Landing ships. As I walked the decks, climbed the ladders (up & down!) All I kept thinking was "this boat landed in Okanowa!!". Men fought (&some lost their lives!) From this very ship!!! It's a good way to teach our children just what our uncle's (mine) & grandfathers did to keep our nation safe!! I'm 5'3" tall, & cannot imagine what it would be been like trying to run through those narrow halls, the steep ladder/stairs!

Try to wrap your head around the history of this ship
You need a good 2-3 hours to do justice to this ship. Just amazing. The people that take care of it are doing a fantastic job. We bought a bunch of stuff in the gift shop - part of the proceeds go to the up keep of the ship. It is one of the few remaining ships that was at the Normandy invasion. Worth It!!
