Wonderful brewery experience!
We stopped at Third Monk, and had an absolutely wonderful time here. This place is small and ‘homely”, but that also means very inviting. We sat at the bar, which was towards the back. We had an absolutely wonderful conversation with the owner, Jeff Robinson. Definitely make sure you take the time to talk with him; he is likely behind the bar! The beer was good...the Altbier that was on tap at the time was one of the best microbrews I had in a while! There isn’t a big food selection here; some snacks, and something that Jeff has cooking behind the bar. When we went there, it was chicken curry and rice in a crock pot...and it was wonderful. All in all, this was a great microbrewery experience, and I can’t wait to go back.

Very Good Beers, Great Local Feel
Stopped by on my drive north and found this gem. Presently, this microbrewery has 6 beers available, but all of them are solid and full of balanced flavor. The award-winning "Lyon Pride" is excellent, as are the Belgian Wit "Beercult" and the stout "Goldhaven". The owner was very helpful and open to giving directions to other microbreweries and brewpubs in the area. I highly recommend a stop here for some beer and good cheer.

Best beer in South Lyon
The Third Monk is a smaller brewery located in South Lyon. However, they offer a very diverse selection of beers from lighter lagers to heavier porters, stouts and IPAs. The beer is top notch. Thursday's are a great time to catch some live music during open mic nite. The Third Monk doesn't serve food (other than popcorn and snacks) but they often host food trucks. The Third Monk is worth visiting!
