Magnificent Sunset

We have been looking for good places to observe the sunset in northern Michigan lately and we added this location to the bucket list. I am glad we did! It wasn’t very crowded on a Wednesday evening. We enjoyed a stroll on the beach, and walked down the north pier which led to the lighthouse. It was interesting to see up close, other than the graffiti on the walls. The scenery was spectacular in every direction, and the lighthouse itself made a great companion to the sun as it was setting. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

    Beautiful
    Great place to walk and watch the waves crash on a windy day. We weren't able to walk all the way out to the lighthouse because the waves were washing over the walkway. However, still a great place to take pictures and stretch your legs.

    Nice
    This lighthouse is smaller than most but still nice. You need to walk a long concrete pier to reach it. We were not able to walk to it the first day as the wind was strong and pushing the waves up on the pier. The second day was much better. Worth the walk.
