Best Meal I Ever Had - No Restaurant Could Compare
Mary Spencer is the genius behind this venture and has been doing it for seven years. Yes there is cooking lessons and tips given and sources to location the food but most important is having the results served to you. An example, Mary uses bacon bits (when long strips are not required) and the bits are available from Trader Joes for $2.50 a lb. Last night, they presented a Bourbon and Bacon Dinner. There was a total of 23 guests and we were surprised that some repeat guests were not locals but had driven more than an hour to partake in this feast. On the online site, Mary lists her schedule and themes of the dinner and the planned menu. For the dinner, last night, the menu was: Mushrooms with Sausage bourbon filling Asparagus Pecan Salad with honey, lemon, bourbon vinaigrette Bacon wrapped beef tenderloin with bourbon, peppercorn cream sauce Bacon and Blue Cheese Mashed Potato baked Apple Pecan Coffee Cake with bourbon pecan glaze Bourbon Soaked Cherry and chocolate chunk ice cream For beverage selection, when you call Mary, she will advise you. Reservations are required and the cost is normally $50 a person. The cost is commensurate with the food being serviced. We have never had a dinner in a restaurant that would compete with this. The guest included about a 50/50 split between repeat and new guests. Also most new guests indicated they would be repeat customers. We will look at the schedule to determine our next dinner. Mary amazed our friend from Brazil when she explained the Brazilian Food that she may select for the Brazil themed dinner during the summer. If you like gourmet food, this is the place you have to go to. I had a hard time trying to determine if this was an attraction or restaurant. I will leave that up to the Trip Advisor staff.
