One of the more hip parts of an already hip city.
State Street area of Ann Arbor is one of the more hip areas of the city. Ann Arbor has a lot of great hang out hot spots but this is the best one. Cool shops and coffee houses, a top used bookstore (Dawn Trader), theaters and great restaurants. This popularity for the area brings tourists and tourists bring beggars and panhandlers so be prepared for that. They’re harmless but keep your wallet in your inside pocket and just give the lose change in your pocket if you give anything.

Shops and Restaurants!
State Street is loaded with character. It feels like "College Main Street U.S.A." There are a ton of great bars and stores. Bivouac is one of the best small shops I've ever visited. The UM-stores are numerous and have high-quality stuff. Overall, this is the pace to visit around Ann Arbor!
