A gem of a park with great rustic camping and lots to do!
A river runs through it and a large lake sits in the middle of this over 2,600-acre park that is great for camping and myriad activities like kayaking, canoeing, fishing and viewing the plentiful birds and other wildlife.

A gem of a park with great rustic camping and lots to do!
We have mountain biked and XC skied here but never stayed. We had a great time summer camping in the rustic walk in sites. They are secluded and off one of the hiking/ biking trails. The beach was a short trail bike ride down the hill. We found the facilities clean and well maintained. Loved the swimming beach, mountain bike trails, dog beach and how it felt so remote, yet 30 minutes from Lansing. Of particular delight was the excellent stargazing! We will definitely come camping here again. Staff were friendly too.

Variety of Activities
Nice clean campground. Typical sites and amenities for a Michigan state park. Plenty of picnic tables and grills by the lake for use. Couple of pavilions one could rent. Disc golf course (we didn't use) was well mapped out. Horse riding trails (we didn't use). Hiking/mountain biking trails were beautiful, but finding the trail head was difficult to find. Once we did the trails are well marked.
